Privacy Policy

Toshokan is a scripture-study application. This policy describes what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we do not run ads, and we never sell your data.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, Apple, or email and password, we receive your name, email address, and (for Google) profile photo through Firebase Authentication.
• Content you create. Studies, series, collections, highlights, bookmarks, comments, and room messages are stored on our servers so they can sync across your devices.
• Device tokens. If you enable notifications, we store a push-notification token for your device.
• Basic usage records. We record events such as views and likes on public studies to rank trending content. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

How we use it

• To operate the app: authentication, syncing, and notifications.
• To show your public contributions (studies you choose to publish) to other users.
• To rank and feature public content in the Reading Room.
• To contact you about your account when necessary.

What we share

We share data only with the service providers required to run Toshokan: Google Firebase (authentication and push notifications) and our hosting providers. Content you mark public is visible to other users. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with advertisers.

Offline data on your device

Bible versions you download and drafts you write are stored locally on your device and stay there unless you sync or publish them.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion removes your sign-in account and all content you own — studies, series, collections, comments, likes, and bookmarks — and cannot be undone.

Children

Toshokan is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update this page and the date at the top.
